Central Bank of Barbados 4th Annual Caribbean Economic Forum

The Central Bank of Barbados in association with the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) will bring to the region  “LIVE” the 4th Annual Caribbean Economic Forum with special guest Dr. Patrick Honohan, Former Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, and veteran journalist, Julian Rogers, scheduled for  the Grande Salle, Tom Adams Financial Centre , Bridgetown on Thursday, March 30 2017, commencing at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Caribbean time / 7:30 p.m. Jamaica time.

Dr. Honohan and Mr. Rogers will interact on the topic “What Policy Course for a Small Open Economy in Today’s Global Macro-Economic Environment” in the 90-minute discussion.  They will also field questions from a studio audience, as well as take telephone calls and respond to emails.  CMC will provide the feed of this very important broadcast which affords regional people to hear from and to interact with an eminent international economics scholar.

Dr. Honohan, an  economist of international standing, has published numerous books, monographs and academic journals and papers in a range of internationally recognised business publications, such as “Finance for Growth; Policy Choices in a Volatile World”, and “What else can Central Banks do?” 

He is very knowledgeable on Ireland’s response to the 2007 financial crisis.

Dr. Honohan, who holds a PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics, was the Visiting Scholar to the International Monetary Fund and the Australian National University.
