Junior Afori ‘Naycha K.I.D’ Edwards, (K.I.D- Knowledge Increase Daily) was born on January 26th 1981 in Melanie, Guyana. He’s is known for his “big voice”, lyric versatility and song writing skills.

From the young age of 7, the youngest of six siblings, he showed signs that one day he could make his mark in the music arena when he used to sing at home and class concerts in primary school. Naycha K.I.D. entered his first music competition in the year of 1995 winning Guyana Junior Calypso Champion and in 1997 he placed 3rd runner up in the Guyana Music Festival.

His passion for music continued propelling him to join a reggae band called “De Boyz” in the year of 1998 and it was no surprise that upon migrating to Antigua in 1999, he aligned himself with the popular “Power Union” band the following year. He also became a member of the Dread and The Baldhead and then EL-A-Kru band. It was however, in the year of 2004 that his music career took off when he entered and placed 1st runner up in the Antigua and Barbuda Soca Monarch competition with his hit single “Wave It”. 2005 mirrored 2004 when he once again obtained the 1st runner up prize in the Soca Monarch competition with the hit single in Antigua for that year “Another Man”, it was in that same year on December 10th, 2005 he tied the knot with his fiancé Karen Spooner.

Naycha K.I.D. could no longer resist the tugging of God on his heart and at the height of his Soca career, he surrendered his life to Christ on April, 29th, 2007. Unashamed, he publicly declared his Christianity and ending his Soca career. After taking some time away from the music to have a deeper knowledge of God, he began using his musical talents for the glory of God, releasing top singles like
‘Nah Water Down” and “Serious’.
