Commonwealth Youth Awards Ceremony 2021

The winners of the annual Commonwealth Youth Awards were announced on 10 March, 2021. The ceremony took place during Commonwealth Week (7-12 March) and were held virtually for the first time due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty finalists from 18 countries were up for five regional awards. Of the five regional winners, one outstanding young person was awarded the Commonwealth Young Person of the Year 2021.

Finalists were chosen from more than 1,000 nominations received from 43 Commonwealth countries.

A select number of young people were also recognised as ‘COVID-19 Heroes’ for their efforts in addressing the challenges posed by the pandemic in their communities.

The awards recognise extraordinary Commonwealth young people whose projects are transforming lives in their communities and helping to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
