It is in the spirit of the “Little Lady” that the Caribbean Heritage Organization (CHO) and the Shirley Chisholm
Cultural Institute (SCCI) are pleased to announce that they have partnered to not only celebrate Ms. Chisholm’s bold legacy during Caribbean-American Heritage Month, but to “ensure that in this age of authenticity and correcting misinformation, that she takes her rightful place in American history,” says Marva Griffiths Herman, Executive Director of the Los-Angeles based Caribbean Heritage Organization.

“As we continue to explore and unpack the legacy of Congresswoman Chisholm, the goal of SCCI is to set the
foundation for that path, honoring the many seeds planted by this visionary who was Unbought and Unbossed for the people,” remarked Barbara Bullard, President of the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute. “It is an honor to be in partnership with the Caribbean Heritage Organization on this initiative.”

The event will also serve as the kickoff to the “Bring A Folding Chair” campaign to add to the many social
justice mantras of this age and in support of Representative Yvette Clarke’s H.R. 2198 and Senator Raphael

towering in the US Capitol.
